The Rift Compass

The Rift Compass is an ancient spatial-navigation Artifact carried by Korren through the unstable Shiverlands. It does not point north; instead, its crystalline needle reacts to relative spatial stability, indicating the most coherent available route through fractured space. The Compass was originally discovered by Shinzuh, who learned to interpret its unusual movements before later forming a partnership with Korren. Shinzuh helps read the Compass, while Korren remains the experienced pathfinder who decides the route using his own skill, instincts, and knowledge of the Shiverlands.
