VEUTWO was first encountered within the Static Expanse, a quiet region of The Null stable enough for scientists to build the Meridian Complex.
Unlike lesser Null entities, VEUTWO did not attack on instinct. He observed. He studied movement, machines, and containment systems with unsettling precision. Recognizing the danger of an entity that could learn, the Meridian scientists sealed him inside a specialized containment tank deep beneath the Complex.
At first, the tank held him.
But VEUTWO adapted. Cycle by cycle, he learned the rhythm of the containment field and began absorbing the energy meant to suppress him.
When the tank finally failed, VEUTWO escaped.
The Meridian Complex was abandoned soon after.
The truth remains unknown.
